  • Sol Rivero

3 more days of Haute Couture fashion are in store for us at the Paris Fashion Week! Check out the main trends of day 3 from the Spring 2014 collections.

PFW Haute Couture Spring 2014 – Day 3 – Trend #5: Boyish

Many of the outfits from day 3 of the Haute Couture Spring 2014 showed ensembles with long coats, black pants with multiple belts, zippers and martial details. Straight lines, high necklines, wide shoulders, heavy jackets and even slicked back short hair collaborated in the design of a very boyish trend.

PFW Haute Couture Spring 2014 – Day 3 – Trend #4: Iridescent, blue, yellow

Amongst the favorite colors of day 3 of the Paris Fashion Week we saw shades of grayish tones, golden, dark red and striking yellow. However, navy blue was once again the trendy color of the catwalks, as well as iridescent embroidery and fully white outfits.

PFW Haute Couture Spring 2014 – Day 3 – Trend #3: Voluminous flowers

In contrast to the boyish trend, some of the designers opted for a more romantic and feminine look, creating voluminous gowns with ruffles, curved hemlines, peplums and multiple layers of tulle and silk, making the outfits seem gorgeous blossoming flowers.

PFW Haute Couture Spring 2014 – Day 3 – Trend #2: Stacked and matching accessories

Golden jewelry with large gemstones was the main trend for accessories. Bracelets matching the embroidery and prints of the outfits, stacked necklaces with pearls and golden chains, and stacked golden cuff bracelets were some of the jewels we saw at day 3 of the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture.

PFW Haute Couture Spring 2014 – Day 3 – Trend #1: Mixed textures and patterns

Many of the Haute Couture outfits from the Spring 2014 collections showed complex mixtures of textures such as hand-woven pieces combined with silk, metallic accents, denim, tulle or even embroidery, creating gorgeous and interesting outfits. Alternative additions were animal prints mixed with tribal patterns, or combinations of stripes and geometric shapes.
