  • Sol Rivero

The London Fashion Week concluded yesterday, so it’s time to take a look at the top trends which appeared in the Fall/Winter 2014/2015 collections from the main fashion designers.

You can check out our favorite looks from each collection at our Pinterest boards.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014/2015 – Trend #5: Folkloric look

The urban tribal look is back for this year’s Fall/Winter collections at the London Fashion Week. Some designers found inspiration in native cultures, with bright and complex patterns; while others found their muse in Asian and Middle-Eastern societies, creating beautiful outfits with a modern spin.

Either in dresses or scarves, the folkloric trend has been one of the strongest during the last few seasons, with patterns inspired by tapestries and ancient cultures.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014/2015 – Trend #4: Embellished coats

The runways from the London Fashion Week have opted for staying away from the classic coats in neutral tones, presenting instead gorgeous alternatives in bright colors or impressive patterns with embellishments or unique prints. With hoods, appliqués or embroidery, the coats from the London Fashion Week will definitely lighten up the Fall/Winter season.

Some of the other popular options were bomber jackets, bright blazers with unique shapes, and lovely sweaters with pastel hues and geometric patterns.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014/2015 – Trend #3: Metallic jewelry and pearls

The main accessories at the London Fashion Week shows consisted in layered necklaces with metallic chains, pearls and even colorful gemstones; large metallic cuff bracelets, metallic belts, large earrings with filigrees, ornamented tiaras, and texturized chokers with long metallic decorations.

Geometric shapes, stars and even safety pins were some of the main silhouettes for pendants and charms.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014/2015 – Trend #2: Blue and orange

Blue was definitely the main color of the Fall/Winter 2014/2015 collections from the London Fashion Week. We saw it in dresses, coats, scarves, shoes, skirts, socks and even accessories. Navy, electric and baby blue were amongst the gorgeous hues seen at the catwalks, so make sure you add it to your closet this fall.

Another surprising shade that was everywhere during the London Fashion Week was orange. This bright and warm tone managed to squeeze between the cool and neutral hues that dominated at the runways, appearing in coats, skirts, dresses and purses.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014/2015 – Trend #1: Pop culture and high art

From bags sporting characters from cereal boxes, to dresses with prints depicting Star Wars’ characters or shirts with popular expressions, pop culture has been present at the London Fashion Week, giving a youthful spirit to the runways. For those with a more cultivated taste, we’ve also seen gorgeous dresses, blouses and coats with prints showing works of art, such as still nature, sculptures and paintings.

Not a fan of either? Don’t worry! Floral, geometric and plaid prints and patterns are still quite popular for this year’s Fall/Winter season.
