  • Sol Rivero

The Oscars of Broadway took place this Sunday with an amazing event hosted by actor Hugh Jackman. Today we celebrate the best of theatre and musicals on Judy Garland’s birthday anniversary, by checking out the best fashion trends from the Red Carpet seen at the 68th Annual Tony Awards 2014.

Fashion trend from the 68th Annual Tony Awards 2014 #4: Statement eyes

Despite all the Broadway extravagance, it was a night for very natural and toned-down looks. Most celebrities opted to bring out their eyes with earthy shades, and complement this fresh look with nude or coral lipstick hues. We’ve been seeing this trend in the latest Red Carpets for the most important events of entertainment, so make sure you add some great nude tones to your makeup collection for the season.

Fashion trend from the 68th Annual Tony Awards 2014 #3: Optical illusions

Embroidery and lace are still the favorites for these high-fashion events, and some celebrities opted for gowns which added a little extra through attractive patterns, like Estelle Parson’s, and even some optical illusions created by details of sheer-panel, like Vera Farmiga’s gorgeous black dress.

Fashion trend from the 68th Annual Tony Awards 2014 #2: Metallic jewelry

Definitely the main accessories of the night: celebrities dazzled at the Red Carpet of the Tony Awards with lots of sparkly jewelry in silver and golden hues. Large bracelets, large necklaces and long drop earrings were the favorites of the night alongside gorgeous statement purses. We also saw some full metallic gowns, such as Jennifer Hudson’s and Emmy Rossum’s.

Fashion trend from the 68th Annual Tony Awards 2014 #1: Orange

Classic black, red, golden and hot pink were some of the colors we saw this year at the Tony Award’s Red Carpet, yet the one hue which stood out was definitely the color of the Spring/Summer season: orange! Celia Keenan-Bolger, Fran Drescher, Adriane Lenox and Lauren Worsham were amongst the Broadway stars who donned the color.
