You don’t need to live in the fashion capital to keep up-to-date with the latest outfits created by the top designers! From July 6th to July 11th, France hosted the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week A/W 2014, and today we take a look at the top fashion trends you can easily incorporate to your style during the next season!

Top fashion trend from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week #5: Neutrals and pastels

It was quite a sober fashion runway, with white and black as the main protagonists in most collections. However, splashes of fiery reds, vibrant blues and bright pastels from the Spring/Summer season, added a livelier feeling to the catwalks.

Grey, lavender, teal and metallic hues such as golden and silver were also immensely popular, appearing in everything: from accessories to makeup palettes!

Top fashion trend from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week #4: Above-the-knee

The colder months are associated with heavy layering and longer clothes, but most designers opted for something a little different with 60’s inspired outfits which fell just above the knee. Although tea-length dresses could also be spotted at the runway, these mini-dresses and skirts are definitely an option for the bolder gals who are not afraid of a little chilliness.

Don’t worry, though! The long sleeves and cozy jackets will probably protect you against the cold.

Top fashion trend from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week #3: Large metallic jewelry

For the upcoming season, couturiers opted for elegance, simplicity, and lots of sparkling! Large hats, gloves, sparkly belts and matching purses were amongst the favorite accessories, but the classiness really stood out with sober accessories like large metalling chokers, bangles and huge hoop earrings.

For something a little sexier and fun, we also enjoyed the layered beaded necklaces in neon shades, or a tamer white.

Top fashion trend from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week #2: Sheer

Think showing skin only for the Spring/Summer season? Not anymore! Designers from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week opted for sensual silhouettes which accentuate the female body through beautiful sheer fabrics. Either pleated, with embroidery or prints… sheer is the trend to follow if you still want to show off your well-earned summer body.

For something edgier, leg splits and unusual cut-outs will also add something sexier and unique to the Fall/Winter season.

Top fashion trend from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week #1: Stars and ice

It was a decidedly futuristic runway, with many collections showing creative elements clearly inspired by a mixture of Noir films and space. Sparkly outfits with heavy embroidery, silhouettes which seemed to come straight from a sci-fi film… the catwalks had quite a classy, yet beyond-this-world vibe to them.

If you prefer something more Earth-bound, some of the collections were also inspired by the cold, with outfits decorated with crystals shaped as icy dripstones.
