High heels are considered a symbol of elegance amongst women, but picking the right pair might be quite a difficult task. You must consider style, comfort and keep in mind the health risks –such as bad posture and back problems- of wearing heels.
To help you out, here’s a short list of tips for choosing the right heels for you!
Tip for picking heels #4: Consider the shape of your body
Although stiletto heels are a staple of glamour, these shoes will look their best on people with a slender body. If you’re a little heavier, thicker heels will help distribute the weight and make you look proportionate.
Tip for picking heels #3: Pick something that fits
Never choose heels that are a little -or a lot- larger than your actual foot size, for this will make your feet slide inside of your shoes. Pick heels that fit you snugly and give you enough support.
Tip for picking heels #2: Opt for heels with platforms
Shoes with thin platforms in the area below the ball of your feet are great for relieving the strain produced by the heels. If you dislike platforms, you can also add some special silicone pad to mitigate the soreness.
Tip for picking heels #1: Choose something that fits your outfit
Black heels will look good with everything, while sparkly footwear or shoes with bold prints and colors will be harder to combine. Pick something that goes with your style and your clothes. If you’re already wearing an outfit with prints, try to avoid shoes with patterns. However, if you’re trying to brighten up a simple one-toned dress, don’t be afraid to get creative with your shoes!
