Want your skin to look gorgeous after a day of work? These skin care tips will help you learn how to clean your face properly in just a few steps, getting rid of all traces of makeup, dirt and oil. Check it out!
Clean your face properly – Step 1: Remove all your makeup
Before cleaning your face, tie your hair back and use a makeup remover to get rid of all the traces of powder, eyeliner, blush, etc. You can use a liquid makeup remover with a soft cloth, or a moist wipe. First, remove the makeup on your eyelid, and then proceed to clean the skin under your eyes and the rest of your face.
After you’re done, clean the residues of the makeup remover splashing lukewarm water to your face.
Clean your face properly – Step 2: Cleanse and exfoliate
Clean your hands thoroughly, and add a few drops of facial cleanser without alcohol or harsh chemicals to your fingers according to your skin type: a foamy cleanser for oily skin, or a creamy cleanser for normal or dry skin. Apply it gently to your skin with circular motions for a minute or two, massaging your forehead and heading down until you reach your neck.
Let the cleanser sit for a couple of minutes so it can penetrate your skin, and then rinse it with cold water.
Clean your face properly – Step 3: Exfoliate or tone your skin
Twice a week, use a mild exfoliator to get rid of all the dead cells of your skin. Apply them in circular motions, just like the cleanser, and make emphasis on the sides of your nose, forehead and chin. Rinse it with cold water and then pat your face softly with a towel.
If you have oily skin, a toner might help control the oil and remove all traces of dirt. Apply it to your skin thoroughly with a cotton ball.
Clean your face properly – Step 4: Moisturize
To finish your cleaning routine, apply a soft moisturizer to your skin. During fall or winter, applying some oil or butter can help you seal the natural moisture of your skin. In the morning, make sure your moisturizer contains a small amount of sunscreen, and at nighttime remember to rub your face with an ice cube before applying the moisturizing cream.
