Historical settings always bring interesting and romantic fashion designs, and it seems like this tale about a beautiful woman of color born in a prejudiced society won’t be any different. Belle has a great cast and also gorgeous costumes designed by Anushia Nieradzik. After a limited run in film festivals last year, it will be in theaters this May.
Must-watch film with promising fashion for 2014 #4: Jupiter Ascending
This fun-looking film has Mila Kunis as the lead female character, and handsome fan-favorites Channing Tatum and Eddie Redmayne are part of the cast. Sci-fi movies have been known to inspire great fashion trends, and judging by the trailer, Jupiter Ascending will honor that tradition with Kym Barrett’s designs (Romeo+Juliet, Matrix). It will hit theaters this July.

High school, good-looking vampires and comedy are a match made in fashion heaven. Vampire Academy comes from the same director who gave us the now iconic Mean Girls, and Ruth Myers (The Golden Compass, Dorian Gray) is in charge of the costume designs. The movie will be in theaters this February.

Disney is a great source of fashion inspiration, and Maleficent is considered one of the most fashionable villains of all their films, so it’s no wonder we’re very excited for her own live action film. Played by the gorgeous Angelina Jolie, and sporting costumes designed by Anna B. Sheppard (Schindler’s List, Inglorious basterds), this movie is one of the most anticipated flicks of the year. It will hit theaters this May.

Grace Kelly is still one of Hollywood’s most iconic stars, and her fashion sense was simply impeccable, a fact we’re all expecting to find in her upcoming biopic, Grace of Monaco. The main role is played by the gorgeous Nicole Kidman –a fashion icon herself-, who will get to wear some of Kelly’s most beautiful gowns as well as designs by Gigi Lepage. The movie will be in theaters this March.
